Authentic Period Fingerplates
Fingerplate history

In the UK, between 1850 and 1950 most interior doors had fingerplates. There were wooden ones, many different types of metal ones, plastic ones, glass ones and ceramic ones. But it's the old brass and copper ones of beautiful designs such as these that are today the most admired and command the greatest interest.

Unfortunately there are not enough of the originals around to cater for today's demand. So a few years ago we set out to create accurate copies, accurate enough to look like recently restored old originals.

In 1994 we succeeded and have since been making them in Wales and selling them to the home market, to Europe and to the USA. Our fingerplates are bought by hotels, shops, builders, interior designers and property developers - although most go to private homes.
